Downtown Milwaukee streets to close for St. Patrick’s Day Parade March 14

MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- Drivers should expect several street closures in downtown Milwaukee for the 58th Shamrock Club of Wisconsin St. Patrick’s Day Parade on Saturday, March 14.

The parade starts at noon on W. Wisconsin Ave. at Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Dr. and ends on N. Water at E. Highland Ave., according to organizers.

Streets in the staging area will close at 10 a.m., with the parade route shutting down at 11:45 a.m. and reopening around 2 p.m. after the parade passes.

The event travels through several downtown entertainment districts and is produced by the Westown Association and the Shamrock Club of Wisconsin.

Officials say temporary "No Parking" restrictions will begin at 7 a.m. and vehicles parked along the route will be towed.

Spectators are encouraged to use public transit, ride share services or nearby parking structures when traveling downtown.
