Ice Age Trail license plate supports Wisconsin conservation

MADISON, Wis. (CBS 58) -- The Wisconsin Department of Transportation Division of Motor Vehicles has unveiled a new Ice Age Trail license plate, available for purchase on its website.

The full-color plate features the iconic Ice Age Trail mastodon and aims to support the Ice Age Trail Alliance, a non-profit organization dedicated to the conservation, maintenance and promotion of the 1,200-mile Ice Age National Scenic Trail within Wisconsin.

The plate was revealed in a Monday, May 1 press release from the Wisconsin Department of Transportation.

To obtain the special plate, an annual $25 tax-deductible contribution to the Ice Age Trail Alliance is required, along with a one-time $15 issuance fee.

Personalized plates are available for an additional $15 fee each year. The regular vehicle registration fee, which may include wheel tax, also applies.
