RIB MOUNTAIN, Wis. (WSAW) -- A deputy from the Marathon County Sheriff's Department said a body found about a mile in the woods around 9 a.m. Thursday morning at Rib Mountain State Park was discovered by hunters. Investigators gathered Camellia and Begonia streets.
Investigators said the body had likely been there for several months. The deputy believed the victim is an adult, no other details including gender were released.
Lt. Jeff Stefonek Marathon County Sheriff's Department detectives are working on the case.
"We are going to work with the medical examiners office to find any other way to identify the body and also compare that to local missing cases and see if we can come up with the ID," he explained.
Deputies said there is no danger to neighbors.
