WAUWATOSA, Wis. (CBS 58) -- Tackling cancer was on the minds of hundreds of people in Wauwatosa on Saturday.
The Medical College of Wisconsin and Froedtert Hospital hosted the second annual 'Cancer Crush 5K Run/Walk' to raise money for lifesaving cancer research.
"Cancer Crush and events like this really support research and support those that are affected by cancer, their loved ones that are affected by cancer, and the more support that we have will be the day that we find a cure for all of these cancers," said Meena Bedi, Radiation Oncologist with the Medical College of Wisconsin.
In Milwaukee County, about 1 in 3 people are expected to develop cancer in their lifetime.
More than 1,600 people in Milwaukee County will likely die from cancer this year.
