MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- A Milwaukee non-profit group that helps others got some financial help from Washington on Tuesday.
The local group is "SET Ministry" which works with people who are trying to get back on their feet after what they call "tragic adversities."
The Federal Department of Housing and Urban Development awarded SET Ministry almost $240,000.
"Having SET Ministry as a partner, I think is going to help individuals on their road to self-sufficiency and that is what our shared goal is. How can we allow people to be in a situation where they're helping themselves," Mayor Tom Barrett said.
The funding announcement is part of HUD's national program to improve the lives of people in public housing.
