Homeless shelters pushed to the max during cold weather

MILWAUKEE -- The extreme cold weather keeps putting pressure on local homeless shelters.  Many shelters throughout Milwaukee are close to capacity.

Cold weather brings more people in.  They also tend to stay longer.  This quickly depletes food supplies, space, and clothing.

Local shelters will gather Wednesday night through Thursday morning to survey homeless people in Milwaukee.  They want to get more information about why they are homeless, how they got there, and more.

Local groups estimate more than 1,500 men, women, and families are homeless every day in MIlwaukee.
