MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- Greendale Middle School hosted a free event Thursday night to celebrate Arab American Heritage Month. It was part of the district's Community Connection program, which aims to promote a sense of belonging for both students and the larger community.
"I see parents, I see students, I see grandparents, I see like friends, family friends, neighbors," Rajwa Abukhamireh, a special education teacher, says. "I am so happy with the turnout of this event."
The Arab American celebration consisted of traditional dance, food, art and a showing of Disney's animated movie "Aladdin."
