MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- Thanks to a hometown nonprofit, two Milwaukee families are now proud homeowners.
On Tuesday, the Greater Milwaukee Urban League, in partnership with area businesses, announced two Milwaukee families have closed on their new homes.
It's all a part of a program which started 15 years ago celebrating affordable homeownership.
Leaders with the Urban League say this program is key to revitalizing Black and brown communities.
"It's part of this initiative around our city to advance our families economically and bring stability, which we all know homeownership is so often the first step," said Dr. Eve Hall, president and CEO of Greater Milwaukee Urban League.
The program is on track to help 28 more families close on their future home.
