Gov. Evers: 'The best thing you can do to help... is stay home'

MADISON, Wis. (CBS 58) -- Gov. Tony Evers on Saturday, March 21, is reminding Wisconsinites to stay home to protect the health and safety of the state's healthcare workers. 

According to a news release from Gov. Evers' office, the guidance is provided by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and the Wisconsin Department of Health Services. 

Evers' shared the message in a video on Saturday, March 21. 

Gov. Evers' also shared the following simple steps to prevent illness and avoid exposure to his virus including: 

  • Frequent and thorough hand washing with soap and water
  • Covering coughs and sneezes 
  • Avoiding touching your face
  • Staying home
