Gordon ties conference record as Badgers squeak by Iowa

Melvin Gordon did his part for the Badgers once again Saturday, and tied a Big Ten record in the process. His teammates did just enough to put the Badgers on the cusp of a conference championship game.

Gordon rushed for 200 yards and 2 touchdowns, tying the Big Ten record for rushing yards in a season, and the Badgers held on for a 26-24 win in Iowa City Saturday. The win ensures that the Badgers-Golden Gophers matchup next Saturday is for a division title and a spot in the Big Ten championship game.

Joel Stave did not throw a touchdown for Wisconsin (9-2), but he also played an interception-free game. The Badgers never trailed, but came close to a tie score late in the game when Iowa's Jake Rudock scored from three yards out to put the Hawkeyes within 2 points. Iowa went for the two point conversion and missed, and two points turned out to be the difference in the game.

Gordon was also the Badgers leading receiver with four catches for 64 yards.
