Racine & Me: Spring and Summer Camps at Racine Campus of WHS
RACINE, WI (CBS 58) -- Registration for WHS Racine summer camps for kids is now open! Whether your child is interested in becoming a future veterinarian or just simply loves being around furry friends, we have something for everyone! Kiddos will enjoy crafts & games, learning about animal care and safety, and of course interacting with some of the adorable animals in shelter. Barks and Blooms Spring Break Camp Grades 1-6 - "Spring" into an awesome day of animal antics! During this one-day camp, kids will enjoy crafts, games, and meeting animal friends. Each day of camp will offer new experiences; register for one day or both. Runs from 9 a.m. - 3 p.m. · Thursday, April 9 · Friday, April 10 ... Summer Camps - Racine Campus Camp Critter Grades 1-3 (completed by date of camp) - Enjoy a fun-filled week of crafts, games, and animal friends at WHS. We'll cover topics like animal behavior, safety, training, and more! · July 13-17 · August 10-14 ... Camp Unleashed Grades 4-6 (completed by date of camp) - Take camp to the next level with fun games, crafts, and hands-on service projects that make a difference for animals in your community. Plus, meet some amazing animal and human friends along the way! · July 6-10 · July 20-24 ... Junior Veterinary Camp Grades 6-9 (completed by date of camp) - Have you ever wondered what it takes to become a veterinarian? Dive into the exciting world of veterinary science and discover what it takes to become an animal doctor. · August 3-7 The Wisconsin Humane Society offers full summer camp scholarships for students in need of financial assistance with the opportunity to attend summer camp. Full scholarships are available for summer camps at the Milwaukee, Ozaukee, and Racine Campuses for young people completing grades 1-9. Teachers or mentors can nominate a young person they think will benefit from a summer camp experience or families can apply directly. Nominations and application forms can be submitted online or printed and returned by mail or email. Parents or guardians, teachers, mentors, and other community members can apply for children to receive a scholarship by filling out our online application at wihumane.org. The deadline for teacher/mentor nomination forms is April 7, and applications from families are due April 15. WHS Racine Campus is hiring!
