Governor Tony Evers declares state of emergency in preparation of winter storm
MADISON, Wis. (CBS 58) -- Governor Tony Evers has signed an executive order to declare a state of emergency as Wisconsin prepares for a winter storm tonight, Saturday, March 14.
The National Weather Service is predicting a potential record-breaking snowfall and winds across Wisconsin.
Wisconsin got a possible taste of what's to come with high winds causing damage and power outages throughout the area Friday, March 13.
In the press release, more damage and power outages is expected with the winter weather coming through. A blizzard warning is set to be in effect starting tomorrow through Monday.
“As we prepare for significant snowfall that could impact much of our state, we're urging Wisconsinites to be careful and plan ahead. Make sure you get stocked up on what you need, prepare for potential power outages, and have access to weather information from a trusted source,” said Gov. Evers in the press release.
