Good Samaritan rescues ducklings after kids threw rocks at them

A female Mallard and her babies are recovering after a good Samaritan brought them into the Wildlife in Need Center in Oconomowoc.

The female Mallard was admitted with two of her babies a little over a week ago.

According to the Wildlife in Need Center, a woman found kids throwing stones at the Mallard and her babies. The mom wouldn't leave her babies and continued trying to protect them.

That's when the woman stepped in and brought the Mallard to the center.

The Mallard had muscle damage to her leg, abrasions to her back and head, and a severe puncture to her left wing.

That same day, the Wildlife in Need Center admitted a single Mallard hatchling and attempted to put it with the female Mallard and her other two babies. She accepted the third baby and has been caring for it.

Thanks to the Wildlife in Need Center, the mallard is no longer limping but her puncture wound will take some time to heal.

We are so thankful for the woman who stepped in to save this amazing mother and so grateful that this mom is so dedicated, even while she is recovering herself…wild mothers are simply incredible!
