MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- Rock & Roll Hall of Famers Paul Stanley and Gene Simmons of KISS visited Milwaukee Tuesday, Aug. 1 for the ribbon cutting of their new Rock & Brews restaurant at the Potawatomi Casino Hotel.

Things kicked off with a bang at the ribbon cutting, with cover band PRISS providing the soundtrack as Gene Simmons talked up the "Demon Chicken Sandwich" named after his KISS persona.

"It's hot, it's so hot, it's like a punch in the face. There are jalapenos, they're freshly sliced, so it's not sort of calmed by being in a jar, so that's me, it's not for everybody," said Simmons.

Paul Stanley says this 23rd Rock & Brews is all about the food and culture of rock and roll.

"This is a celebration of rock and roll, but it's not a funeral parlor, it's not all about dead artists, this is about celebrating the vibrancy of rock and roll, and the enduring quality of rock and roll," said Stanley.

Dominic Ortiz, CEO and general manager at Potawatomi Casino Hotel says it was the right fit for their expansion.

"I think it was a match made in heaven for brew city, it's all about rock and roll, it's all about great food, beer, we couldn't be more pleased," said Ortiz.

For Stanley, he says with KISS playing Summerfest back in the day, it was a good fit for them as well.

"This partnership has turned this into something that has to be seen to be believed," said Stanley.

According to Simmons, you should come by because it's not like you have anything better to do.

"At the end of the day, we're all just passing through, you're gonna be dead before you know it, while you're here, you might as well have a good time," laughed Simmons.

Potawatomi officials say this is just one part of their ongoing three-part expansion that is adding 350 jobs here at the hotel and casino.
