GE showing off new mammogram technology

GE is trying to encourage more women to get mammograms by making the experience more comfortable.

GE officials were in Milwaukee today showcasing new breast imaging technology. They say the number one reason women don’t schedule mammograms is because it’s uncomfortable, so the new technology aims to improve the experience.

“It’s truly beyond mammography itself. It’s ultrasound, other modality software analytics that play a part in making sure women can get the best breast care she possibly can and that’s what we’re really showcasing today,” says Chelsea Neubauer with GE Healthcare.

GE’s technology has the lowest doses of radiation and uses precise positioning, making exams faster and easier.

The technology is already used at a hospital in Kenosha and is expected to come to more Milwaukee-area hospitals in the next few months.
