MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- A former Milwaukee County corrections officer, charged with sexually assaulting an inmate, is now bound over for trial.
Gilberto Fernandez-Rosa faces three counts of sexual assault, two of them are felonies. At a preliminary hearing Thursday, March 4, a detective with the Milwaukee County Sheriff's Office talked about what the inmate told her about the incident.
"She didn't know what to say at the time because she was nervous, because she's an inmate and he's a correctional officer and who was gonna believe her if she, like, pushed him," said Det. Joann Donner, with the Milwaukee County Sheriff's Office.
Fernandez-Rosa has since resigned. A motion by his attorney to dismiss the case was denied.
He'll be in court for an arraignment on March 23.
