72-year-old Racine man dies after being struck by driver fleeing police

RACINE, Wis. (CBS 58) -- The Racine County Sheriff's Office says the man injured after being struck by a car involved in a police chase has died from his injuries.
The 72-year-old victim was identified as Daniel Brown.
Officials say Brown was driving near Victory and Lathrop Avenue Saturday, April 19, when the driver of a fleeing vehicle -- 36-year-old Adonis Jamel Martin, of Racine -- disregarded a stop sign and crashed into Brown's vehicle.
Authorities say Martin has a lengthy criminal record, and at the time of the crash, had active warrants through the Department of Corrections for cutting off a monitoring bracelet.
An investigation is ongoing. Charges will be recommended to the Racine County District Attorney's Office for review.

RACINE, Wis. (CBS 58) -- Racine police say a 72-year-old man is critically injured after a 36-year-old suspect led police on a chase that ended in a crash on Sat. Apr. 19.
Officers initiated the pursuit around 6 p.m., which ended when the fleeing vehicle drove through a stop sign at Victory and Lathrop Avenue, and struck an uninvolved vehicle on Lathrop.
The operator of the third vehicle, the 72-year-old victim, was taken to Froedtert via Flight for Life.
The 36-year-old suspect was taken into custody and is being held at the Racine County Jail.
The Racine County Sheriff's Office and Wisconsin State Patrol as investigating the crash.
