Firefighters respond to Oak Creek We Energies plant

OAK CREEK -- We Energies confirms control systems that operate their Oak Creek plant were experiencing issues and shut down. These control systems are programmed to shut down.

The back pressure created by the shut down heated  insulation. There were no injuries, and no disruption in power.

\"When those controls no longer had power coming to them that set off alarms within our operation center,\" explained Spokesperson Brian Manthey.

The area was evacuated and Manthey said about 50 people were there at the time.

Electricity is not being generated at the Oak Creek  plant until all systems have been inspected and given the okay.  It's unclear how long that might take.
