MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- Feeding America Eastern Wisconsin kicked off its 19th annual Peanut Butter & Jelly Challenge on Monday, Feb. 1. The month-long campaign encourages people to donate supplies to make PB & J's.
Feeding American says peanut butter is a great food donation because it can be used for breakfast, lunch and dinner...making it a versatile staple when food is scarce.
"We want to make sure kids always know that meals are available to them and they don't have to worry about the next time they're going to eat," said Scott Marshall, vice president of development and communications of Feeding America Eastern Wisconsin.
He says the number of people Feeding America is helping has increased by 25% since the pandemic began.
This month, for every dollar donated Feeding America can make four meals for someone in need. For more information to donate, click here.
