MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- Milwaukee’s Dragon Boat Festival will bring 50 teams to Lakeshore State Park for its 11th annual competition on Saturday, July 12.
Teams of paddlers, drummers and supporters are expected to gather for races and cultural events along the Lake Michigan shoreline.
Planning committee member Susa Siy, Retinal Rock Dragons paddler Alex Jennings and Youth Leadership Academy captain Ethan Zhang joined us on Wednesday, July 2 to offer a preview.
Organizers expect about 3,000 racers and spectators. The festival will include traditional dance, Chinese folk music, martial arts and cultural activities for all ages. Registration and volunteer opportunities remain open online at Milwaukee’s Dragon Boat Festival website.
