Fan Appreciation Sunday at Lambeau
The Packers are set to give tribute to fans at Sunday’s Packers-Vikings game at Lambeau Field, the official Fan Appreciation Game, with extra game giveaways and special promotions to thank the fans for their support during the season.
Fans are reminded that the start time of the game has been changed to 7:30 PM on NBC’s Sunday Night Football as part of NFL flexible scheduling. Those traveling to the game also are advised to use extra caution while driving and allow plenty of time to reach Lambeau Field, as the recent snowfall and ongoing construction projects may cause delays. Particularly at the WIS 172 and I-41/WIS 172 Interchange, motorists should expect congestion before and after the game, and are encouraged to consider using alternate routes if possible.
To recognize and express gratitude to fans for their support this year, the fan appreciation game giveaways will include Ariens Sno-thros, Kohl’s gift cards, Bose headphones, a Chevy truck and a Chula Vista weekend getaway.
The January 3 tickets will also feature the photograph from the winner of the “Packers Ticket Takeover Contest.” After more than 9,200 entries and 24,500 votes on packerseverywhere.com, Laura Fischer of Appleton was chosen as the winner, and her photo of her 3-year-old son, Declan, was printed on the tickets for the Packers-Vikings game.
Prior to kickoff, the Packers will recognize Steve Jones, the Wisconsin Football Coaches Association/Green Bay Packers High School Coach of the Year, from the field. Jones recently completed his fifth season as the head coach of the Kimberly football program. The Papermakers finished the 2015 season with a perfect 14-0 record, capped off by a 49-42 come-from-behind victory over Arrowhead in the WIAA Division 1 State Championship at Camp Randall Stadium in Madison on November 20. Jones will be awarded a $2,000 grant for the Kimberly High School football program and will be honored at the WFCA All-State Banquet.
Also during pregame, representatives of the Packers and Humana will recognize this year’s 10 Community Quarterback Award recipients. Each recipient received a $4,000 grant in recognition of their extensive volunteer work that is given to the nonprofit group for which they volunteer. The recipients were also given two tickets each to the game.
In addition, the Packers and Arise Health Plan will be recognizing an Oconto, WI, native, U.S. Army Captain Shannon Frazier, through Operation Fan Mail on-field prior to the national anthem.
Andi & Alex, contestants from the most recent season of NBC’s “The Voice” and Green Bay natives, will perform the national anthem.
At halftime, the High School Quarterback Challenge competition on the field will feature players from Homestead High School and Kimberly High School. Fans will also compete during halftime in a contest to win a brand new Chevrolet vehicle.
Car socks, which decorate a vehicle’s side mirrors, compliments of Chevy, will be given to game attendees at all gate entrances prior to kickoff.
Two featured alumni are scheduled to make appearances throughout the weekend at various locations. Donny Anderson and Jim Grabowski will be taking part in fan activities at the Lambeau Field Atrium, Tundra Tailgate Zone and Legends Club leading up to kickoff.
Also taking place Sunday is the premier gameday tailgate party in the Tundra Tailgate Zone (TTZ), which will open at 3:30 PM, along with the Lambeau Field Parking lot.
The Lambeau Field Atrium and guest services desk will open at 11:00 for ticketed guests only. Gates to the seating areas will open at 5:30 PM. For a full list of gameday information, please visit packers.com/gameday/gameday-information.html.
