Family Prepares to Raise 18-year-old's Baby Boy After Domestic Homicide

As police search for the person who killed a young mother, the woman's family and friends are getting through their grief by helping the baby boy she left behind.

"Beautiful spirit, wonderful smile ... just a beautiful woman to be around, beautiful young lady," said Keshonda Petty, Audrea Williams cousin.

Audrea Williams was 18 when she was shot and killed; a result of domestic violence. She left behind her two month old son, Audric-Amir.

"She fully embraced the role of motherhood and did everything she could for Audric, her prince...Even though it was two months she had with him, it came natural for her," said Petty.

The family says Audric will have a home with his grandmother and Audrea's aunts will help.

"Things that are commonplace that children need that a mother typically has nine months to prepare for. Tracy has had less than a week," said Petty.

That’s why they're asking for your help, too. They're taking donations, new or used, for Audric.

"Clothes, shoes, strollers, beds, what ever your heart desires," said Jacquline Robins, Audrea Williams Aunt.

The family has one more request.

Audrea was in an abusive relationship, and tried to get help, but it was too late. They say if you are or know someone who is experiencing domestic violence ... there is help. Tell someone you trust and get out.

"We don't want to see someone else go through the tragic situation we are going through," said Robins.

If you want to help, a Go Fund Me page in Audrea and Audric's name has been posted. It takes monetary donations, or you can contact the page's author to drop off donations.

At Landmark Credit Union there is also a memorial fund set up. It is called, 'Audrea Williams Memorial Fund'. Some of these funds will go towards Audrea's funeral; she did not have life insurance.
