Erin Hills cutting some fescue

The Erin Hills fescue has been a big topic of conversation already at the U.S. Open.

The fescue even has its own parody twitter account that has been up for over a year.

Over the weekend professional golfer Kevin Na went on a rant about the long grass located at every hole around the course.

In a statement Tuesday evening the USGA issued a statement saying they thought they might have to mow certain parts of the rough due to a combination of high winds and heavy rain. Erin Hills picked up about an inch and a half of rain Monday night so the grounds crew mowed limited areas of fescue on holes 4, 12, 14 and 18.

That should make some golfers happy.
