Eight Overdoses on Opioids over Weekend

The Milwaukee county medical examiner's office sent out a tweet Monday saying it is investigating eight probable overdose deaths in the county from this weekend alone.  

Health care professionals gathered in Milwaukee today to address opioid issues and steps they can take to fight abuse.

Wisconsin Attorney General Brad Schimel was also there and reacted to the medical examiner's tweet.

"Unfortunately, that's not even shocking news anymore. It's shocking but it's not unusual news anymore that's getting to be routine. If we don't work together to get out in front of this and continue what we're doing, it's going to bury us," says Schimel.

Schimel says he's impressed with the state's health care providers and their efforts to get ahead of the opioid epidemic.
