MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- Former Milwaukee Police Officer Dominique Heaggan-Brown has dropped his lawsuit against the Milwaukee County Sheriff's Office.
The lawsuit filed in July alleged inhumane treatment in the County Jail ahead of his trial for sex crimes. He submitted a handwritten note dropping the lawsuit because he didn't want to pay the $400 filing fee.
Heaggan-Brown shot and killed Sylville Smith in August 2016 sparking days of violent unrest in Milwaukee's Sherman Park neighborhood.
