MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- An incredible reunion Monday night at the Milwaukee Brewers game. It's where Milwaukee Police Detective Andy Wilkiewicz got to meet the woman whose life he saved from an armed carjacker at a Shake Shack last year.

That woman nominated Det. Wilkiewicz for the Brewers Hometown Champion award. He got it, no surprise, but the best surprise for her was that she got to be the one to hand it to him.

"I asked him a few minutes ago, if I pass out, would he save my life again? So, I'm just extremely nervous," said Chelsea Hopf.

Chelsea Hopf figured she'd go to the game and watch her hero throw out the first pitch, but a week ago, the Brewers told her she could be the one to hand it to him.

"To me, it's like it's finally coming to an end, and this is kind of like closure for the situation, for me to see him, to see he's doing okay," said Hopf.

A year-and-a-half after an armed carjacker tried to steal Hopf's vehicle with her children in it, Det. Andy Wilkiewicz didn't hesitate. He was off duty at the Third Ward Shake Shack as the DoorDash driver, who'd parked outside, was threatened by young men that were later arrested and charged.

"I mean it seems like every day feels like yesterday. You know, I'm still dealing with physical injuries from that," said Detective Wilkiewicz.

Det. Wilkiewicz was shot multiple times.

"I'm just glad that in the long run, we're all okay and we got the bad guy, he's gonna be going to prison for a long time," said Detective Wilkiewicz.

"I'm okay. I have PTSD from it, but we're getting past it. It's hard for me to talk about it," said Hopf.

Wilkiewicz is the second to receive the Brewers Hometown Hero award.

Milwaukee Police Officer Peter Jerving's family accepted it on his behalf in April.

The shooter in the Shake Shack case, Keasean Ellis-Brown, is expected to be sentenced June 30.
