Despite record-high of new COVID-19 cases, Wisconsin sees positive rate drop

WISCONSIN (CBS 58) -- In the past 24 hours, Wisconsin processed more than 13,300 COVID-19 tests.

A record 1,117 of those tests came back positive.

Despite the record-high number, the positive rate actually dropped to 7.7 percent due to the large number of tests processed.

In total, more than 44,000 tests have come back positive.

Thirteen more people have died from coronavirus complications in the state, bringing the total to 859.
