Authorities say the first homicide happened around 1:30 a.m. near 24th and Becher. They were called to investigate the sudden death of a 53-year-old. The cause of death is not being released at this time. A suspect was taken into custody. The victim is being identified as 53-year-old Rosa Rivera.
Around 2 p.m., officers responded to an apartment near 26th and National after a suspect came into the police department and said she stabbed someone earlier in the day. The suspect was taken into custody. The victim is being identified as 54-year-old Cassandra Steward.
Around 3:50 p.m., a man was found shot dead in a car near 28th and Meinecke. Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding the death.
