Day 1: First Day of CBS 58 Big Road Trip Comes to an End

And just like that the first day of CBS 58 Big Road Trip is over. The crew started in Milwaukee early Tuesday morning and ended in St. Louis, Missouri. A fitting end, because from here the road trip team travels through the Gateway Arch towards the west.

The day started out a little slow with a delayed start due to packing and travel concerns. A little snow and ice didn’t stop the team from making good time through Illinois before ending the day in Salem, Illinois at Schutt Sports Manufacturing learning about how the football helmets Packers like Aaron Rodgers wear are made.

From Salem, the crew made the 90 minute westward trek to St. Louis where Wednesday’s journey will start.

The CBS 58 Big Road Trip Team has been tearing it up on social media. Constant updates can be found on Snapchat (cbs58news), Twitter (cbs58), Instagram (cbs58news) and Facebook (cbs58). You can also follow the team through their daily reports of CBS 58 News at 4, 5, 9, 10 and CBS 58 Morning News and at noon.

A sneak peek of the plan for Wednesday includes traveling further west to the other side of Missouri to Kansas City where we hear there is great barbeque. But while our stomachs will be thinking of bbq, our minds will be set to the history of Super Bowl I when the Packers played the Kansas City Chiefs.

Stay tuned for more excitement as the team travels west for the Biggest Game in sports.
