MILWAUKEKE (CBS 58) -- Historic Mitchell Street between 23rd and Layton will see daily closures for about four weeks starting Monday, July 13 as the roadway undergoes reconstruction, according to the Office of the City Clerk.

Crews will close one full block at a time in both directions, generally from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday, reopening each block to traffic at the end of the workday.

Weekend travel is not scheduled to be affected.

During construction hours, drivers will not be able to travel between 22nd and Layton via Mitchell Street, though a signed detour route will be in place. Crews will begin work at 22nd and Mitchell streets and move west one block at a time.
