Cudahy man arrested after crashing into Manitowoc County school

MANITOWOC, Wis. (CBS 58) --- A Cudahy man was arrested after crashing into a school in Manitowoc County on Monday, Aug. 2. 

Police responded to a crash in the Village of Francis Creek at 1:23 a.m. 

Daniel Lepak, 32, of Cudahy was driving on CTH V when he failed to stop for a stop sign, proceeding through the intersection, and collided with  St. Anne School, according to police. The school is located at 202 S. Packer Drive. 

Lepak and Isaiah T. Miramontes, 21, of Milwaukee, were trapped in the car and extricated with jaws for life.

Police say Lepak was transported to a Green Bay hospital for serious, but non-life threatening injuries. Thedastar transported Miramontes for life-threatening injuries.

Police say alcohol and speed were contributing factors.

According to police, Lepak was arrested for operating while intoxicated, causing great bodily harm, and reckless driving, causing great bodily harm. He was issued citations for unreasonable and imprudent speed, failure to stop at stop sign, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of open intoxicants, and failure to wear seatbelt.
