Crow in Jefferson County tests positive for West Nile virus

JEFFERSON COUNTY, Wis. (CBS 58) -- A crow found in Jefferson County in early August has tested positive for West Nile virus.

This is the first bird to test positive for West Nile virus in Jefferson County since the Jefferson County Health Department started monitoring for West Nile on May 1.

West Nile is spread to humans through the bite of an infected mosquito.
