Crossing Guard Walks Away After Being Hit By Car

A crossing guard was hit by a car Tuesday morning in front of Frank Lloyd Wright Intermediate School in West Allis.

The accident happened around 7:25 at the intersection of Cleveland and 94th St.

West Allis emergency responders were dispatched to the scene, but the crossing guard only suffered minor injuries and walked away.

It's unclear what caused the car to hit the crossing guard or if the driver was cited.

Brian Vissers, Communications Specialist for the West Allis-West Milwaukee School District says this is another example of why it's important to pay attention when driving.

"Anytime you see school signs, school zone signs just slow down and pay attention. Especially during the morning and early afternoon hours when you know children are going to and from school.”
