MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) – Love is in the air at the Milwaukee County Courthouse.
On Thursday, many couples signed up to tie the knot in special ceremonies at the courthouse.
For the occasion, employees decorated the courtroom and brought in sweet treats for the newlyweds to celebrate. The courthouse has been holding the special wedding ceremonies for more than 10 years.
Many people say it’s a joyous occasion, even for the judges.
“Being Valentine’s Day, I think it’s just a nice opportunity to help them celebrate, make it a little bit more special as best as we can and be part of their commitment ceremony,” Circuit court judge Andrew Jones said.
28 couples signed up to be married.
