Couple of cooler days before our next round of warmth arrives
Tuesday was a nice warm day with highs reaching into the low 70s for all of southeast Wisconsin. It was very windy as well on Tuesday with gusts to 50 mph bringing in all the warmer air. The wind will stay gusty on Wednesday but this time out of the NW bringing in some cooler air. A lighter lake breeze will kick in for Thursday then we see a south wind return warmer air to southeast Wisconsin on Friday.
Temperatures will stay cooler Wednesday and Thursday in the low 60s. Then we warm up with highs in the 70s Friday and 80 on Saturday. Sunday looks a scosh cooler, but still above average for this time of year.
We could still see one last round of frost away from the lakefront Thursday morning. A clear sky and calm wind will be perfect conditions for frost to develop if temperatures get cold enough. Some middle to upper 30s are possible inland but lakeside should stay warmer and closer to 40.
After we get through that chilly start Thursday, you should be good to plant! We don't have any more concerns for frost the next week and with average lows getting close to 50 degrees it will be harder for frost to form in the second half of May.
