City of Milwaukee parking regulations begin Dec. 1

MILWAUKEE -- City of Milwaukee drivers beware, winter parking regulations take effect starting December 1.

From now until March 1, 2014, most residential streets require alternate side night parking, but there are exceptions to the rule. For example, overnight parking is prohibited on major streets and bus routes, and these streets are not posted “no overnight parking.”

In addition, some streets on the east side and near south side that usually allow for overnight parking on both sides of the street for most of the year, now require residents to park on alternate sides of the street overnight from December 1 to March 1.

Check for posted signs first for winter parking regulations on those streets where you plan to park, or visit the Department of Public Works' website or call (414) 286-CITY (2489) – 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
