Children's Wisconsin Foundation hosts new fundraising event at Wisconsin State Park
MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- Children's Wisconsin hosted a new celebration of kids, families and the community today, Sept. 13, at the Wisconsin State Fair Park.
CBS 58's Chief Meteorologist Drew Burgoyne did a weather show for the kids at Rally Round.
Besides the weather experiments, there was live music, games, sports, opportunities to run, roll or walk on the historic Milwaukee Mile Track and more.
CBS 58 was told more than 6,000 people showed up - all to help raise money for Children's Wisconsin.
"I have goosebumps," Christine Baranoucky of Children's Wisconsin Foundation told CBS 58. "I am so inspired by the community's generosity and engagement with us."
The Children's Wisconsin Foundation already considers the event a success and is looking to bring back the event for a second year.
Rally Round was in place of Al's Run and Walk.
