MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- A Chicago man convicted in the death of a 1-year-old boy in Milwaukee learned his sentence Friday.

Court records show 27-year-old Antonio Homan was sentenced to 14 years in prison followed by 10 years of extended supervision.

Officers found 1-year-old Zion Price unresponsive at a home near 67th and Locust back in September of 2021.

According to a criminal complaint, Homan was dating the mother of the boy at the time, and the child was left in Homan's care the evening of Sept. 30, 2021. The complaint says Homan told detectives he heard the baby let out a loud cry and he "admittedly became frustrated."

Court documents show the child suffered abusive head trauma; he was hospitalized and taken off life support days later.

Homan pleaded guilty on March 13 and was convicted of neglecting a child (consequence is bodily harm) and second degree reckless homicide.
