WINNEBAGO COUNTY, Ill. (CBS 58) -- A Delavan police officer is facing criminal charges after being arrested in Illinois. 

Records show 31-year-old Joshua Bittner was booked into a Winnebago County jail Thursday afternoon, March 19.

He's charged with aggravated stalking and violating a protection order. 

The City of Delavan Police Department says Bittner has been employed with the department since February of 2023. He's been placed on administrative leave pending the outcome of an investigation and court proceedings.

Winnebago County Sheriff's Office records show Bittner is due in court April 29.
