Early voting begins in Milwaukee
DOOR COUNTY, Wis. (CBS 58) -- Folks in Door County will be ringing in the New Year with a giant cherry. It's a new addition to the Sister Bay New Year's Eve Celebration.
Despite a chilly forecast, organizers hope the cherry drop will bring in 1,000 people for the celebration.
"Are you kidding? This is Wisconsin. It's Sister Bay. We are hearty souls. We don't care. We will be fine," said Louise Howson with the Sister Bay Advancement Association.
The giant cherry is made of steel and weighs about 300 pounds. It's covered with 2,000 lights and is about six and a half feet tall.
