Celebrate National Chocolate Day at Tabal Chocolate, learning from a local chocolate maker
CBS 58 WAUWATOSA, Wis. (CBS 58) -- A chocolate bar from Tabal Chocolate in Wauwatosa might be a sweet treat, but it's not a piece of candy, according to Dan Bieser. Bieser is the founder of Tabal and a chocolate maker. He travels to places like Peru and Colombia to source cacao beans and makes all of his own chocolate right back here in Wisconsin.
"It's kind of like a small pumpkin, now that I think about it," said Bieser. "It starts with a little blossom and then twice a year it turns into a pod like that. That's how chocolate starts. It grows on a tree."
When you visit Tabal, you can shop all of Bieser's chocolate products or take the 'bean to bar' class to learn about the entire process of how the chocolate is made.
Bieser prides his space on being not just a chocolate shop, but a lounge and learning center as well.
