MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Early detection is key to survivial. 1 in 8 women will develop breast cancer in their lives. That's why CBS 58 News teamed up wit the Susan G. Komen foundation to host our annual "Conversations with Komen" phone bank.
"Just in my lifetime, I've seen breast cancer go from a universally lethal disease to more of a chronic disease and that is because of early detection. Early detection and new tools at our disposal for the treatment of breast cancer which were not there 27 years ago," said Dr. Guillermo Martinez, a Physician Pathologist.
