MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) - One person was hurt after a car drove through the front door of the Dollar Tree on Capitol Drive in Milwaukee.

It happened around 2:30 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 8th.

Chadoe Cerious was in the store when it happened. “I hear a loud explosion, I’m thinking terrorist attack,” said Cerious.

He recorded the aftermath on his cellphone.  He says the driver seemed to be OK.

“She was an elderly lady, she seemed very remorseful and I don’t think she was too hurt,” said Cerious. “Once she smashed in and smashed up everything the car pretty much came to a halt, she got out of the car to check on the person on the ground,” he said.

He says two people inside the store were hit.  Cerious never heard the driver explain what happened, but thinks she had to be going pretty fast to make it that far into the store.

“She had to put a lot of foot on the gas to get that kind of destruction,” he said.

Cerious says the store closed right after the crash. It was back open later in the day, something that shocked the people who witnessed what happened.

“Did they stay open?” he asked, “Oh wow, I didn’t know that, yeah I’m very surprised.”

Cerious says he feels lucky to be alive and still can’t believe what he saw. “I drive for a living so I see accidents all the time,” he said. “I just never seen one in the store.”

Milwaukee police say no arrests were made, but didn’t have any other information.

The Milwaukee Fire Department says one person was transported to the hospital with injuries.
