MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- After an internal investigation, the MCTS bus driver involved in an incident on Monday has been fired. MCTS did not say the reasoning behind the firing.

MCTS released a statement that said:

"MCTS has hundreds of amazing bus drivers who are out on the road every single day. In this rare case, one driver acted in a way that goes against everything we strive for. Her behavior was inappropriate and unacceptable."

MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- MCTS officials say a bus driver has been suspended after an incident on a bus Monday afternoon.

According to MCTS, a woman got on a bus at 27th and Wisconsin and started shouting at the driver. The woman tossed a soda can at the driver, reached around the security shield, and her hand hit the driver's head.

The person responsible eventually got off the bus and ran away. The driver has been with MCTS for fourteen months.

MCTS says they, along with the Milwaukee Police Department are investigating the incident.

No wonder very few wants to drive or ride on the MCTS buses these days!

The bust ticket cost many times more than to operate a car per trip, its very inconvenient and seem the number of bus stops are being reduced each day/ Seems I see most bus stops filthy and full of graffiti and some riding don't seem to be the nicest - like this woman who verbally and physically assaulted the driver!

I Have no clue why anyone would want to drive a bus (you can also substitute "drive a bus" with "be a teacher") as they are treated terrible and basically every day they go to work they are putting themselves into a situation of deadly harm. They need combat training and for what they go through the pay is not worth it in my opinion.

Such a shame how bad the experience seems to be with the buses, its also a reflection of the challenges of society overall. When you can't feel safe traveling around the city on public transportation it means the city is in decline!
