Bucks O.J. Mayo to Hand out Halloween Costumes

Milwaukee Bucks guard O.J. Mayo is getting into the Halloween spirit by donating and distributing costumes to 150 Milwaukee-area children of the COA Youth & Family Centers and Burke Early Education Center  at 2320 W. Burleigh St. Monday. The event takes place from 4:00 - 5:00 PM.

Mayo will be on hand to personally drop off costumes and interact with the children of the programs.

Since 1906, COA Youth & Family Centers has helped Milwaukee children, teens, and families reach their greatest potential through a continuum of educational, recreational and social work programs offered via its urban community centers and rural camp facility. As a multicultural agency, COA values diversity and cooperation, and promotes personal growth and positive social interaction.

The Burke Early Education Center provides a safe and nurturing environment in which children ages six weeks to six years can learn and develop the skills for future academic and social success. In each classroom, the Early Education Center provides content-rich, developmentally appropriate curriculum that supports children’s natural curiosity and interest while fostering critical thinking skills and healthy social-emotional development.

To conclude the evening, Mayo will meet with individuals from the Safe + Sound program and MKE Run & Gun Elite AAU team to share experiences and insight with the participants. Both Safe + Sound and MKE Run & Gun are programs that focus on mentoring and developing leadership skills while bringing a positive impact to teens in the Milwaukee community.
