MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- The Milwaukee Brewers partnered with Aurora Healthcare to celebrate Mother's Day on Sunday, May 12. Specifically, moms who are fighting breast cancer or have survived the disease.
It's all part of the Brewer's Mother's Day Pink Out Game, where survivors got special seats in the Aurora Healthcare bullpen. The day also included a first-pitch ceremony, in-game recognitions, giveaways, and more.
One of the women honored today was 68-year-old Nancy Bonesho, a breast cancer survivor who's now fighting bone and lung cancer.
She threw out today's first pitch and says today's visit brings back good memories with family.
"Being here at the ballpark makes it special on Mother's Day, bringing back my memory of my mom and my dad and all the things we've done here at the park together. And the support for breast cancer awareness day, just makes it all special," said Bonesho.
The event followed Brewer's pitcher Hoby Milner's visit to Aurora Women's Pavillion on Friday, where he met with patients battling breast cancer ahead of today's game.
