The body of a woman found on Louis Sorenson Road in the Village of Mount Pleasant, has been positively identified as 17-year-old Olivia M. Mackay from Kenosha.
Mackay was the subject of a missing persons report with the Kenosha Police Department. On Monday, July 24, Mackay did not show up to work in Kenosha. Once her family was made aware of this, they began to look for her.
The Kenosha Police Department worked with the Mount Pleasant Police Department and inquired about the identity of the deceased female that was found on Monday, July 24. Mackay’s family was notified and positive identification was made.
"We are talking to friends and family, anybody that might have seen where she went, who she was with, people she worked with. It comes down to basic police work and again that is time consuming and we are going to get closure for this family," said Captain Brian Smith, Mount Pleasant Police Department.
The circumstances surrounding the death of Olivia Mackay remain suspicious in nature. Investigators are still waiting for results from the medical examiner's office.
