Washington County Sheriff's Office responded to a blimp crash near the Erin Hills Golf Course Thursday morning.
Only one person was on the blimp, the pilot.
Pretty sure I just watched the blimp crash at the #USOPEN! Hope everybody is ok! pic.twitter.com/OSOCSBF46p

The blimp is operated by AirSign and is being used to advertise for PenFed Credit Union. AirSign confirms to CBS 58 that this is one of their blimps.
AirSign said the pilot rode the blimp the ground. He had serious injuries and was taken by Flight for Life.
The U.S. Open tweeted out that the blimp is unaffiliated with both the U.S. Open and Fox Sports.
