MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- Actor and Marquette University alumnus Patrick Finn has died. 

The university's College of Communication paid tribute to the actor and writer - known for roles in movies and sitcoms like "Friends," "Seinfeld," and "That '70s Show" - in a social media post Wednesday. 

The school says Patrick was a "generous supporter," who returned to campus several times to teach improv courses. 

Marquette says Patrick leaves behind a wife and three children, writing, "Thank you for sharing Pat with us and with the world."
