Abele appoints Jim Sullivan as director of Milwaukee County Parks

MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- Milwaukee County Executive Chris Abele announced Thursday that Jim Sullivan has been appointed as the next director of Milwaukee County Parks.

Sullivan has previously served as the director of Child Support Services since 2011.

Abele also named James Tarantino as the chief of business services for County Parks after the retirement of a long-time employee.

“It’s been an exciting few years in Milwaukee County Parks but the best is yet to come,” County Executive Chris Abele said. “I’m thrilled to have Jim Sullivan serve as the next director of our County Parks as we continue to plan for a sustainable future that preserves our natural spaces for generations to come. I’m also excited to have James Tarantino join the Parks team. His experience working with other local governments, non-profits, and the business community will be invaluable as we explore more innovative partnerships like our successful beer gardens. I’d also like to thank Guy Smith for serving as interim director as well as the rest of the team at Parks for keeping things running so smoothly.”

The two begin their new roles on January 2.
